When Lin and I decided to increase our home’s living space, our unfinished basement was the obvious place to start.  We turned to Larry Tokarsky, owner of Tokarsky and Associates and Mason Design and Build.  The combination of Larry’s two firms offered the advantage of an architectural service to determine the best layout to suit our needs and fit the space, the structural integrity required, and the finish design including paint, carpet, cabinets and more.  Then Mason Design and Build stepped in to perform the actual construction.  Since Larry was involved from the beginning, there was a very smooth transition from design through construction completion, resulting in no surprises in terms of cost add-ons.

In addition to increased living space, a major goal of the project was to create a space that suited our life style, blending smoothly with the rest of our home, devoid of the look or feel of a “finished basement”.  This, along with quality workmanship, was critical to the creation of value to realize when selling the property.
